Course Overview
You know Kubernetes. Now run it on AWS the right way. This course takes you through every layer of Amazon EKS — standing up clusters with eksctl, managing node groups, deploying real workloads, wiring up ALB Ingress, securing pods with IRSA, and operating clusters at scale with Fargate, Cluster Autoscaler, and CloudWatch. Hands-on labs throughout.
Prerequisites
- 1Solid Kubernetes fundamentals — pods, deployments, services, and kubectl
- 2AWS basics — IAM, VPC, EC2, and the AWS console
- 3An AWS account (Free Tier EC2 credits or a dev account for labs)
Core Concepts
- 1EKS cluster architecture — control plane, managed node groups, and the AWS CNI
- 2ALB Ingress Controller — routing HTTP/HTTPS traffic into the cluster from AWS load balancers
- 3IRSA — scoping AWS API access per pod with IAM Roles for Service Accounts
- 4Fargate profiles — serverless Kubernetes pods with no EC2 node management
- 5Cluster Autoscaler and HPA — right-sizing the cluster and workloads under load
